LSU Claims 2025 NCAA Baseball Championship in Dominating Sweep of Coastal Carolina
Louisiana State University (LSU) celebrated a triumphant victory by sweeping Coastal Carolina in the 2025 College World Series best-of-three final, securing their eighth NCAA Division I Baseball National Championship. This victory marks the second title in three years and the sixth consecutive championship for a Southeastern Conference team.
In the series opener, left-hander Kade Anderson delivered a masterful complete game shutout, leading LSU to a narrow 1-0 win. The game’s sole run came in the first inning, driven home by shortstop Steven Milam after Derek Curiel’s lead-off walk. Anderson’s performance was stellar; he struck out 10 batters and limited Coastal Carolina to just three hits, earning him Most Outstanding Player honors.
Game Two saw right-hander Anthony Eyanson pitch 6.1 innings, allowing three runs while striking out nine. LSU broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run fourth inning, thanks to key hits by Chris Stanfield and Curiel.
