Keyon Martin, a football player for the Ragin Cajuns, was carried off the field with a serious injury after a hit during a game on Tuesday night. He was down on the turf for nearly 15 minutes before being transported to a hospital. However, there is good news as Keyon provided fans with an update on his condition. He posted a photo from the hospital giving a thumbs up and reassured everyone that he will be okay, saying “God got me!!!” The team rallied around him as he was taken to the ambulance, and now he is on the road to recovery.
The Ragin Cajuns shared a photo of Keyon on a stretcher with his neck stabilized in a brace before boarding a plane back to Lafayette with his teammates. Despite the scary incident, Louisiana went on to win the game against Texas State 23-17 with a national audience watching on ESPN 2. Keyon’s update and recovery have brought relief to fans who were concerned about the extent of his injury. We are glad to see him up and moving fine after what seemed to be a serious neck injury. Keyon’s resilience and positive attitude in the face of adversity are a testament to his strength and determination. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the field soon.
