Press Release: Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Induction Weekend Kicks Off in Natchitoches
NATCHITOCHES, La. – The 66th annual Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame (LSHOF) Induction Weekend is set to take place from Thursday, June 26, to Saturday, June 28, celebrating sports excellence in historic downtown Natchitoches. This year’s induction class features a notable group of eight, including NFL star Andrew Whitworth, coaches Danny Broussard, Joe Scheuermann, Dale Weiner, basketball icons Danny Granger and Vickie Johnson, as well as LSU legends April Burkholder, Bobby Soileau, and Nick Saban.
The weekend kicks off with a Welcome Reception on Thursday from 5–7 p.m. at the Hall of Fame & Northwest Louisiana History Museum, where attendees can enjoy local cuisine, music, and meet the Class of 2025.
On Friday, the Celebrity Bowling Bash will take place from 11:30 a.m.–2 p.m. at Alexandria’s Four Seasons Bowling Center. Later, the Rockin’ River Fest showcases live music, kid-friendly activities, and fireworks from 6–10:30 p.m. To round off the evening, the VIP Taste of Tailgating event features gourmet Louisiana dishes and mingling with inductees.
Saturday activities include a Junior Training Camp for kids aged 7–17 from 9–11 a.m., led by Saints and Pelicans coaching staff. A Round Table Luncheon at noon will allow attendees to hear intimate stories from the honorees, moderated by Fox Sports announcer Tim Brando.
The weekend culminates in the Induction Ceremony on Saturday evening, set to be televised live on LPB, marking a first in the event’s history.
