Exploring Louisiana’s Lights on a One Tank Trip

Louisiana Lights, a new holiday light show located at the Windrush Gardens behind the LSU Rural Life Museum in Baton Rouge, is lighting up the night sky with 400,000 twinkling bulbs arranged to highlight the property’s history and beauty. The 100-year-old garden, once belonging to the Burden family, features themed displays like the “Oscillating Orchard” inspired by the property’s fruit trees. Director Bill Stark and his team spent three years planning the project, ensuring that the historic gardens were not damaged during the installation of the lights. Tickets for the event cost $20 per person, with parking priced at $10 per car, all proceeds going towards the upkeep of the gardens and historic buildings.
